Ivano-Frankivsk Region is located in the southwestern part of Ukraine. It borders Lviv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia regions, and in the far south, it shares a state border with Romania. This geographical position makes Ivano-Frankivsk Region an important link in cross-border cooperation and in the development of transport and trade relations between Ukraine and the European Union.

The administrative center of the region is the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, located approximately 716 km from Kyiv by rail or 614 km by road. Administratively, the region is divided into 6 districts, comprising 15 cities, 23 settlement- and 24 rural territorial communities. In total, Ivano-Frankivsk Region includes 804 settlements, of which 765 are rural.

Combining a strategic geographical location, a strong natural resource base, and high tourism potential, Ivano-Frankivsk Region represents a promising area for investment in green tourism, energy, woodworking, recreational complexes, and agricultural processing.

The educational potential of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region is among the strongest in Western Ukraine. The region hosts 18 higher education institutions, which train specialists for key sectors of the economy, including energy, medicine, IT, and management.

The leading universities of the region include Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, and King Danylo University, all of which are actively developing international cooperation, scientific research, and innovative educational programs.
