Kyiv Region is located in the central and northern parts of Ukraine. The administrative center of the Region is the city of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Kyiv Region borders Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Chernihiv Regions, as well as Belarus. Kyiv Region has two airports – Boryspil and Kyiv (Zhulyany) – and is located 476 km from the Odesa seaport. Administratively, the Region is divided into 7 districts and includes a total of 26 cities, 30 towns, and over 1,000 villages.

The main industries in Kyiv Region are electric power, food, chemical and petrochemical industries, mechanical engineering and metalworking, tire production, the automotive industry, the tobacco industry, and the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and heating. Kyiv Region consistently ranks among the top three leading Regions of Ukraine in terms of foreign direct investment – over $2.5 billion. The attracted funds are directed to key sectors of the economy – mechanical engineering, food and processing industries, energy, agriculture, logistics, and construction.

Industry specialization: heavy industry, light and food industries, and high-intensity agriculture in the grain, beet, meat, and dairy sectors of the Region; pharmaceuticals, information and communication technologies, and creative industries – in Kyiv. Natural resources: mineral building materials, granites, gneisses, kaolins, clays, and quartz sands. There are also small peat deposits and sources of mineral radon water.

Kyiv Region has the largest network of industrial parks in Ukraine – 13 officially registered sites. Among the most successful are Bila Tserkva Industrial Park and its extension Bila Tserkva-2, which specialize in the processing industry. This year’s initiatives include KIT Park in Bucha – a large-scale construction materials production project implemented with private and credit investments of about UAH 1.75 billion – and Myronivka Park, registered in 2025 as the 100th industrial park in Ukraine.

At the same time, the Region actively supports entrepreneurs: the state program “UA Global: Etsy Start” helps young businesses open and scale online stores by providing grants, training, and mentoring support. According to the state strategy, by 2027 Ukraine plans to increase the number of exporters to 35,000 and boost annual export volumes to €60 billion.
