Kyiv Oblast is located in the central and northern parts of Ukraine. The administrative centre of the region is Kyiv city, the capital of Ukraine. Kyiv region borders Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, Chernihiv regions and Belarus. Kyiv region has Boryspil and Kyiv airports and is located 476 km from Odesa Seaport. Kyiv region is administratively divided into 7 districts. A total of 26 cities, 30 villages and over 1,000 villages. The leading universities are Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”. The unemployment rate in Kyiv was 6.8% (average in Ukraine 9.9%) and the average salary in Kyiv was 627 USD and in Kyiv Oblast 433 USD (average in Ukraine 430 USD) in 2021.
