Energy-Saving Measures – Reconstruction of the Existing Shompoly House of Culture into a Community Building Center
Many communities in Ukraine today face pressing challenges, such as helping residents maintain existing and build new social connections, increasing public engagement, creating infrastructure for diverse recreational activities, integrating internally displaced persons (IDPs) and reintegrating veterans, involving vulnerable populations in community life, and providing informal learning opportunities for both children and adults.
In the Shompoly district, 1,692 people reside, including children, youth, and working-age individuals. The only venue for organizing community leisure activities is the village club, with no other facilities serving this purpose. This has led to a desire to renovate the club into a modern community building center. The primary goal of the project is to create a space for the interaction of different social groups, allowing them to spend leisure time together, participate in community life, and provide support to individuals belonging to vulnerable populations.
Expected results:
- Establishing social connections, strengthening community solidarity, creating a space for interaction among diverse members of the local community, and supporting local initiatives;
- Assisting vulnerable populations, including individuals with low income, those in need of care, people with physical and mental health conditions, and individuals from marginalized groups.
