Reconstruction of the sewage pumping station and introduction of biological wastewater treatment

Implementation has been suspended. In the period 2022-2023, repair works were carried out, however, as of today, to complete the reconstruction of the CS-1 in the village of Britivka under the first stage of construction (installation of equipment, installation of a cover plate, cleaning filters and pumps), to put the facility into operation, financing is required in the total amount of UAH 2604.156 thousand.

To complete the reconstruction of the second stage of the reconstruction of the sewage treatment plant-1 in the village of Brytivka, the financing of works in the amount of UAH 10265.768 thousand is required. In 2021, the Shabivka Village Council developed the project “Reconstruction of WWTP-1 with the completion of a complete biological wastewater treatment unit using VIOTAL technology with a capacity of 200 m3/day with the commissioning of the first stage with a capacity of 100 m3/day in the village of Brytivka, Shabivka Village Council, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District, Odesa Region”. In September 2023, the design and estimate documentation was adjusted for a total amount of UAH 18613.591 thousand. The project for the reconstruction of the CNS-1 in the village of Britivka involves two stages of construction.

In the village of Brytivka, there is a sewage facility built on a residential area that was put into operation in 1983 and was out of service in 1993. The sewage system has exhausted its operational and technological life, and the equipment is in a state of disrepair. There is a potential threat to the life and health of the residents of Brytivka village, as wastewater flows between residential buildings and along educational institutions, unsanitary conditions, untreated wastewater enter groundwater and surface water bodies, including the Dniester Estuary, resulting in groundwater and surface water pollution and deterioration of their ecological condition, creating prerequisites for the spread of unsanitary conditions and an increase in the number of infectious diseases.

Target groups and estimated number of beneficiaries of the project, persons 
The total estimated number of beneficiaries from the project implementation is at least 16672 people in the immediate vicinity and 86623 people in neighboring communities who will benefit from the reduction of pollution in the Dniester Estuary.

Direct results and products expected from the project implementation: 
1. One sewage pumping station was reconstructed with the completion of a complete biological wastewater treatment unit using the VIOTAL technology with a capacity of 200m3/day with the commissioning of the first stage with a capacity of 100 m3 /day with the commissioning of the first stage with a capacity of 100 m3 /day in the village of Britivka. 
2. A high-quality and environmentally safe wastewater treatment and disinfection system was installed. 

Main activities under the project:

• Construction and installation of a high-quality and environmentally safe wastewater treatment and disinfection system based on tender procedures. 
• Commissioning of the facility and start of operation.
