Lviv Region is located in the west of Ukraine and borders Poland, which provides it with a highly advantageous cross-border location and access to key European transport corridors. The region functions as a strategic logistics hub, connecting the markets of the European Union with Ukraine’s domestic economy.

The industrial sector of Lviv Region continues to demonstrate steady growth and to strengthen its trade potential. Between January and July 2025, exports of goods increased by 5.1%, while imports rose by 15.1% compared to 2024, reflecting an expansion of both production and domestic demand. The construction industry shows particularly strong performance: in 2024, the total area of new commercial facilities in the region grew by more than 50%, driven by rising demand for office, industrial, and residential space.

In 2024, 137 new enterprises from 78 countries were registered in Lviv Region, underscoring the high level of foreign business confidence. The Phoenix – Valley of Innovation Industrial Park serves as a key example, attracting $11.3 million in investments and creating up to 500 jobs. Another significant achievement in 2024 was the launch of the Philip Morris International plant, worth $30 million, which has already reached full operating capacity. In the sphere of green energy, the UNIMOT Group is developing solar power and energy storage projects, while the EBRD and the EU allocated €30 million to support small businesses through Bank Lviv.

Lviv Region possesses a strong academic foundation and produces highly qualified specialists in IT, medicine, engineering, economics, and culture. The region hosts 30 higher education institutions, forming a powerful educational and research base. The leading universities include Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University.

In 2023, the unemployment rate stood at 7.7% (compared to the national average of 9.9%). The average monthly salary in Lviv Region in August 2025 reached $567, while the national level for the same period was $627.
