Solar power plant

The solar power plant (SPP) is a pivotal initiative aimed at harnessing renewable energy to power the cement plant. With an installed capacity of 20 MW, this project will reduce the cement plant’s electricity costs by providing a sustainable and efficient source of energy. The solar power plant will directly supply the cement plant with electricity, ensuring an eco-friendly and cost-effective power solution.

The construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of ~20 MW is planned on leased plot of land in Kryvyi Rih. The implementation of the project is planned for the period 2025 – 2026 (start of use in 2026), and includes: construction of the SPP – 12.0 mln USD, connection to the centralized central network – 3.5 mln USD.

Economic effect

Economic effect is calculated as the difference between the cost of the full volume of electricity produced by the SPP and the cost of the DAM (The day-ahead market). Due to the fact that at the moment the cost of the electricity generated by the SPP is significantly lower than the price of electricity, the installation of the SPP will reduce the company’s costs by  3.5 mln USD/year. Annual generation of the station: ~28 GW.
