Municipal enterprise of the Sumy City Council “Electroavtorans” provides transportation of passengers on the order of the Sumy City Council.

Today, the important obstacles in the functioning of the enterprise are: – in periods of overloading of the country’s energy system, when temporary shutdowns are implemented from the company’s power system (fan temporary shutdowns), a problem arises regarding turning off and turning on the electrical equipment of nine traction substations located in different areas of the city, due to which the movement of electric transport is forcibly suspended for a much longer period of outages;

  • the constant increase in the cost of consumed electricity leads to a significant burden on the budget of the Sumy City Territorial Community.

The city authorities are making maximum efforts to restore the destruction in the Sumy City Territorial Community. And, of course, after Ukraine received the status of a candidate for membership of the European Union, it unequivocally supports the course of our state’s transformational growth to create a resource-efficient and climate-neutral Ukraine in European society.

The decarbonization trend is one of the main priority directions for the development of electricity production from renewable sources.

Solar power plants are environmentally friendly and safe for health and the natural environment, and the production of electricity from such plants has a high rate of economic efficiency.

Therefore, taking into account the global policy on decarbonization, the city authorities of the city of Sumy decided to build a solar power plant to provide the municipal enterprise of the Sumy City Council “Electroavtotrans” with “solar” electricity for its own needs.

The implementation of this project will provide an opportunity to obtain a reliable supply of electrical energy during periods of shutdown or insufficient work of generating enterprises of Ukraine, the economic effect of spending on the trolleybus movement of funds of the Sumy community, and the ecological aspect of resource conservation.

Solar power plants (SPPs) are the most common industrial RES facilities in Ukraine. According to the National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Communal Services data, more than 65% of the structure of production capacity of RES facilities is occupied by SES. In many ways, the prevalence of SES in Ukraine is due to the availability of technologies, a low market entry threshold even for private households, a high level of “green” tariff, as well as a good level of insolation of the territory of Ukraine, which exceeds the insolation level of Germany – one of the world leaders in the generation of solar energy.

The subject of the project is the stable and economical provision of passenger transport by electric transport in the city of Sumy, the possibility of providing services during the period of maximum energy load of the system in Ukraine, in particular in the city of Sumy. Taking into account the damage to energy-generating enterprises during the martial law period and their subsequent restoration, it is suggested to use the possibilities of alternative energy (in our case – solar), taking into account solar power according to the geographical position of our region (the city of Sumy).
