Kropyvnytskyi is located in the Kirovograd region, which is the central part of Ukraine. The population of the Kirovohrad region is 933.109 persons.

Until 2022, the region had no higher education institution for police training. Due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the number of population of the region increased due to a large number of registered internally displaced persons; security and law enforcement issues in the conditions of war were aggravated; opportunities for higher education in several regions of Ukraine were limited.

However, due to the relocation of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs to Kropyvnytskyi, the Kirovohrad region was given a unique opportunity to train police personnel for the needs of its community and neighboring communities. Thus, the project will open the possibilities for higher education at the expense of the state on a specialty of law and provocative activity at least 450 boys and girls every year.

The building, where the project will be realized, belongs to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and is in use of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs on the right of rent.

  • Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs is a higher education institution with specific training conditions and is part of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The number of employees: 409; the number of students and cadets: 4325. The University holds studies in the following specialties: Law, law enforcement, economics, and public administration. In addition, on the basis of the University are advanced training of the existing police officers, and the Police Academy functioning, which provides the initial professional training of police officers.
