* $3,000,000 – the required funds to launch one farm within the complex. In total, five farms are planned, allowing for scalable production.
The Steppe Trout project has high investment potential as it includes a full production cycle and utilizes efficient technological solutions.
EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization):
- Total EBITDA: $11,439,991 million
- Average annual EBITDA: $2,287,998 million
Annual Revenue:
- Total revenue: $18,928,611 million
- Average annual revenue: $3,785,722 million
NPV (Net Present Value): $10,806,989 million
IRR (Internal Rate of Return): 88% at a 10% discount rate
The project is designed for rapid payback due to low operating costs and stable demand for fish products. The high profitability rate makes this investment attractive to venture funds, private investors, and strategic partners in the food industry.
The Steppe Trout project has already passed key preparation stages:
- A feasibility study (FS) has been developed, including market analysis, economic feasibility assessment, financial efficiency evaluation, and risk assessment with mitigation strategies.
- A preliminary design of the complex has been created.
- Urban planning conditions and construction restrictions have been obtained.
The next stage involves developing working documentation and preparing for construction. This stage is expected to be completed in 2025, after which construction of the fish processing complex will begin. The project launch and scaling are planned for 2026–2027.
The project will result in a modern fish processing enterprise that meets the highest environmental and technological standards.
The Steppe Trout project envisions the creation of a modern fish processing complex that ensures a full-cycle production of salmonid fish species – from farming to deep processing and packaging of the final product.
The core technology for fish farming is Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), which allows for efficient environmental control, reduced water consumption, and minimal ecological impact.
The project includes the production of 350–500 tons of fish per year per farm, with a total of five farms planned within the complex. This will allow for scalability of production up to 2,500 tons of fish annually, utilizing automated processes and state-of-the-art technology.
This approach ensures stable profitability, compliance with international quality standards, and lower logistics costs due to the project’s location in Ukraine. Fish farming in controlled environments guarantees high product quality, while on-site processing minimizes losses, making the business model highly efficient and environmentally sustainable.
Key Project Advantages
- Full Production Cycle – from fish farming to final product distribution, ensuring stable profit margins.
- Growing Market Demand – especially for environmentally clean, sustainably farmed fish.
- Sustainability & Innovation – RAS technology reduces natural resource consumption and ensures eco-efficient production.
- Government Support – potential access to grants, preferential loans, and tax incentives.
- Strategic Location – situated in the SMART TECH INDUSTRY Industrial Park in central Ukraine. Direct access to the E40/M03 Kyiv-Kharkiv international highway ensures efficient logistics and optimal distribution conditions within the domestic market.
Beyond economic benefits, this project strengthens Ukraine’s food security by reducing fish import dependency and providing consumers with high-quality, locally sourced fish products.
