Investment potentialKirovohrad Region is located in the central part of Ukraine. The administrative center of the region is the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
Almost the entire territory of the region (except for the village of Vlasivka) lies on the right bank of the Dnipro River. It borders Cherkasy Region to the north, Poltava Region to the northeast, Dnipropetrovsk Region to the east and southeast, Mykolaiv and Odesa Regions to the south, and Vinnytsia Region to the west. Kirovohrad Region is located 300 km from Kyiv and Boryspil Airport and 314 km from the Odesa seaport.
Administratively, the region is divided into 4 districts, comprising 12 cities, 27 urban-type settlements, and 991 villages.
In 2021, the region’s GDP amounted to $2.7 billion (1.8% of Ukraine’s GDP), foreign direct investment (FDI) totaled $141 million (0.3% of Ukraine’s FDI), and exports reached $0.9 billion (1.9% of Ukraine’s exports).
Industry specialization: mining, food industry (including beverage and confectionery production), agricultural engineering, and agriculture (livestock breeding and crop production).
Natural resources: uranium ores, marl, kaolin, gypsum, sand, and chalk.
The region hosts seven universities and nine vocational colleges (technical schools). The leading higher education institutions include Kirovohrad National Technical University, Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University, and the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University.
In 2023, the unemployment rate in the region was 13.2% (compared to the national average of 9.9%), while the average monthly salary reached $455, versus the national level of $627.
