Investment potentialKropyvnytska Oblast is located in the central part of Ukraine. The administrative centre of the region is Kropyvnytskyi city.
Almost the entire territory of the region (except for the village of Vlasivka) is located on the right bank of the Dnipro. It borders Cherkasy in the north, Poltava in the northeast, Dnipropetrovsk in the east and southeast, Mykolaiv and Odesa in the south, and Vinnytsia in the west. Kropyvnytskyi region is located 300 km from Kyiv and Boryspil Airport and 314 km from Odesa Seaport.
Kropyvnytskyi region is administratively divided into 4 districts, 12 cities, 27 urban-type settlements, and 991 villages.
Regional GDP in 2021 was 2.7 billion USD (1.8% of Ukraine’s GDP), FDI stock was 141 million USD (0.3% of Ukraine’s FDI stock), and export was 0.9 billion USD (1.9% of Ukraine’s export).
Industry specialization: mining industry, food industry (including production of beverages, and confectionery), agricultural engineering, agriculture (cattle breeding and crop production).
Natural resources of the region: uranium ores, marl, kaolin, gypsum, sand, and chalk.
There are 7 universities and 9 technical schools in the region. The leading higher educational institutions are the Kirovohrad National Technical University, the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vinnichenko, and the Kirovohrad Flight Academy.
The unemployment rate in the region was 13.2% (average in Ukraine 9.9%) and the average salary was 357 USD (average in Ukraine 430 USD) in 2021.
