Investment potentialDnipropetrovsk Region is located in the central-eastern part of Ukraine and is one of the country’s most important industrial centers. The administrative center of the region is the city of Dnipro. It borders Poltava and Kharkiv Regions to the north, Donetsk Region to the east, Zaporizhia and Kherson Regions to the south, and Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad Regions to the west. Dnipropetrovsk Region is situated 454 km from Kyiv, 218 km from Kharkiv Airport, and 450 km from the Odesa seaport.
Administratively, the region is divided into 7 districts, comprising 20 cities, 66 urban-type settlements, and 1,438 villages.
The region possesses powerful industrial potential, producing a wide range of goods including cast iron, rolled steel, pipes, machinery, mining equipment, agricultural machinery, tractors, trolleybuses, refrigerators, chemicals, and many other industrial products. Dnipropetrovsk Region also has well-developed food and light industries, hosting numerous garment and textile enterprises. It is home to globally recognized industrial leaders such as the Pivdenmash Aerospace Plant and ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the largest private company in Ukraine by revenue.
Dnipropetrovsk Region accounts for over 13.3% of Ukraine’s total industrial output, confirming its role as a key driver of the national economy. The leading industries include metallurgy ($4.9 billion), mining ($3 billion), and energy ($1.3 billion), which together form the foundation of the regional industrial structure. The region’s agricultural sector covers over 2 million hectares and contributes 8.8% of Ukraine’s total agricultural production. The food industry, which forms the backbone of the sector, reached a volume of $1.97 billion in 2023, representing 64% of total agricultural production.
Industry specialization: metallurgy (cast iron, steel, metalworking), mining (ore, uranium, coal), mechanical engineering (aerospace and transport), and chemistry (nitrogen compounds, plastics).

The region hosts 29 universities and 15 technical schools (vocational colleges). The leading higher education institutions include Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, Dnipro State Medical University, and Alfred Nobel University.In 2023, the unemployment rate in the region was 8.8% (compared to the national average of 9.9%), while the average monthly salary amounted to $648, exceeding the national level of $627.
